About the Event
Roots and Pride is an annual celebration that honours the lives, legacies, and contributions of African and Caribbean migrants across the Liverpool City Region. Rooted in community storytelling, cultural pride, and intergenerational exchange, the event recognises the impact of those who made Liverpool their home and helped shape the city’s identity.
What began as a local heritage and storytelling project has evolved into a growing cultural platform that uplifts voices, preserves history, and showcases excellence.
Now entering an exciting new chapter, Roots and Pride aspires to become a flagship event in the UK’s cultural calendar celebrating Black migration stories, identity, and the ongoing contributions of African and Caribbean communities across Britain.
