2025 is the 150th anniversary of the birth of Black British composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor
Tayọ Aluko & Friends in association with BlackFest celebrated the event by presenting a Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Festival, with ensembles including the Besses o’ th’ Barn Wind Band, and soloists performing the composer’s music.
The evening was completed by Tayọ Aluko’s acclaimed one-man play with songs, Coleridge-Taylor of Freetown*, followed by Q&A.
